A DAY AT THE ASHRAM*- An introduction to ashram life.
Have you always wondered what a visit to an ashram is like?!
The purpose of this course is to introduce ashram life to those who have never visited an ashram or who want to reminisce and experience an ashram’s daily routine in the traditional way.
Many of us have limited interaction with eastern religions, yoga or a spiritual guru but are still seeking stress-free, spiritual weekend breaks within the comfort of our own city! Workshops like these are antithesis of our life of technology overdrive and constant action. It will recharge your mind and spirit with a combination of simplicity and meditation, served up on a tight schedule like at any ashram.
As one Sun Yoga client, who wished for an experience like this, said “I’ve been to lots of trips. The scenery changes, but the vibe doesn’t. I need a back-to-the-basics approach that’s unlike anything I’ve ever done!”

This workshop is open to ALL LEVELS AND AGES. No prior yoga or meditation experience needed.
When: Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019
At: 9:00 am- 3:30 pm
Schedule: The whole day is sequenced as one would find at any Sivananda ashram.
9am-10am: Opening Satsang (meditation, chant, philosophy)
10am -12pm: Yoga Asana & Pranayama class (All levels)
12pm -12:30pm: Wholesome vegetarian Lunch
12:30pm- 2:00pm: Yoga Philosophy
2:00pm-2:15pm: Chai Break with Sivananda cookies
2:15pm- 2:35pm: Final message - reading from the Yoga upanishad from Swami Sivananda.
2:45 pm- 3:30 pm: Yoga Nidra
TRADITIONAL HATHA YOGA Level 2
90 minutes of Traditional Yoga. Each class comprises of 6-12 rounds of sun salutations, asanas, pranayama and meditation. A complete body and mind experience with an experienced Traditional yoga instructor like Neeru. Learn the why's and how's of each asana in detail.
If you are an INTERMEDIATE-ADVANCED yoga student, you must try this class!!
This is a DROP IN CLASS and is taught by Neeru P.
GENTLE HATHA YOGA- All levels
This is a 60 minutes class based on Sivananda Tradition. You will be doing gentle stretches and yoga asanas to release tension and increase flexibility. An ideal for beginners or if you have some physical limitations. This class will slowly help you build strength, breathe better and calm the mind. You will learn basic Pranayama (yogic breathing) and meditation to bring everything to the centre.
All levels and ages are welcome.

This class is appropriate for Vinyasa practitioners of all levels who are interested in the additional benefits of Yin opening, without forgoing the opportunity to move dynamically.

Restorative Yoga
Relax & Renew!
Gentle stretches and simple yoga asanas using yoga props (bolsters, yoga blocks, blankets, pillows and straps) to release tension. Each supported pose is held for 5 minutes to still the fidgety body and to calm the rambling mind. A perfect yoga class to bring everything to the center and feel relaxed and renewed!
Ideal class for everyone. Advanced students will be challenged as they realize that just because the body is resting quietly on the props does not mean the mind will be still!
