SUN YOGIS helping each other shine!

After almost 10 years of teaching yoga, the universe is unfolding new ways for SY to spread wellness in the global community. It’s amazing how paths are crossing, and how SY is starting to help women achieve their dreams of becoming an entrepreneur, helping them have a better lifestyle, and access basic education.

1. SY is an ambassador for Yoga Gives Back, which helps underprivileged women in India. All proceeds collected from our donation based classes are sent to YGB every month.

2. SY is helping rural and uneducated women in Rishikesh, India. I met them while I was in India last year and loved their passion to help themselves, their skills and their willingness to think outside the box. These women are sewing canvas bags for SY. The canvas bags will be at the studio soon!

3. SY is helping two young immigrants follow their dream of being an entrepreneur. Since last year, they have been working on making coffee based skin care products and were so excited to collaborate with SY to sell their products!

All this has already started to inspire SY students, who always wanted to use their skills and turn them into a small business! They are starting to dream, starting to think of names and logos of their business, and their eyes sparkle with the idea that they can be business women, and that they can make a difference!

If you can dream, you can do it.

The power of your mind can create your reality.

LET YOGA SHOW YOU THE WAY.

FISH POSE (Matsyasana)

MATSYASANA- Fish Pose

In Sivananda Yoga sequence, this pose is followed by Sarvaangasana (Shoulder stand).

Matsyasana has benefits at multiple levels:

Physically, it opens up rounded shoulders thereby improving the posture. It tones muscles in neck, and upper back area.

Physiologically, it improves breathing as it opens the rib cage. It has proven to alleviate asthma when practiced regularly.

Mentally, it helps overcome fatigue and anxiety.

Energetically, it opens the heart chakra and does wonders in opening our hearts to receive love, and give love to the world.

The experience of Shavasana after Matsyasana is of a much deeper level.

Being ALONE, or being LONELY... it's different

BEING ALONE, DOES NOT MEAN TO BE ALONE.

Togetherness with physical or emotional bodies is finite, and transient. Why limit togetherness to just the eyes, ears, feelings, and touch?

Real togetherness is when while being alone you feel one with your loved ones, one with strangers, one with the sky, ocean, birds, trees..

We are in each other all along, whether together or apart. All separations, and distances collapse when you feel this oneness. This kind of love is beyond time, and space.

In this vast ocean, how can a wave at the front end of the ocean feel distant from the wave at the back, when there is the same water in all the waves?

Our beings are always together. There is only one being, in fact there is just “being”… there’s just water… there’s just love.

Who is watching you?

Facebook prompts you

“What’s on your mind?”

You start observing, and watching to find the answer.

Who is watching?

It cannot be the mind, because you need two things to watch… a subject (the one who watches),and an object (the thing that is watched). So, obviously the mind cannot watch the mind! There has to be another entity which knows what’s on your mind.

Simple.

So, what or who knows what is on your mind?

That very thing is the consciousness/ awareness. That knower which has watched, is watching, and will watch whatever happens to your body mind complex.

Simple.

Consciousness is the light in which everything is illuminated.

That consciousness is God.

Which means, You are God!

Tat Tvam Asi.

Simple.

OM NAMAH SHIVAYA.

Salutation to the Shiva, which is me.

Aham Brahmasmi.
